Is that true? If so, who was it? If I weren't so busy with my volunteer work, and have broadband I'd listen to the show.
But little time for fun.
If people don't wanna talk about it here, leave me a email on the zone. I'll get to it somehow.
Puggle dropped out and Goldfingas got disqualified cos he supposably used a backing track (though I didn't hear it.)
The reason why you didn't hear the backin track is because it was set just to play in his ear.
Nobody would have been the wiser if he hadn't have said anything.
I think i heard it in the distance but the thing that made me suspitious even before he said it it was when there was a gab between the first and the second verse and he said second verse before started singing it. It was obvious that he was waiting for the right time to start singing. But as i said it was very unfortunate that he is out. His singing was very interesting and unique.
ok I will make a comment. Goldfingas got disqualified because he used a backing track. Now we figured this out because it took him so long to start singing at the start of his song and at the second verse. But I must say, why must we all create bords for such a stupid reason. A question like this could have been posted to quick notes, or there is info about this on the icon page. Please read what we post on the page. It is there for a reason
Well, I heard about this on another zone icon board. And thought I'd start one here..... I love controversey in competition as it brings more life and and suspense.
Whats a backing track anyways? Is it where you have something playing in your ear while you sing? Never heard of this concept before.
The singers were supposed to sing acapello last week. So having music playing in his ear was against the rules.
well he said we didn't have to talk about it here Aaron, so, meh.
And yeah, I thought I heard it too.
Oh please, that disqualification was so fucking staged. GF wouldn't be that stupid.
Wonder why though? I mean, did they want drama or did the judges just not feel like dragging the thing out? lol, but Clarence said he didn't care anyway, so I could see why he would agree to it but why'd puggle leave, I wonder. At first, the fact that she's a professional singer (I think and have heard) got my attention, but still... hmmm.
Lol. You could hear the backing track when he wasn't singing. So, yes, the staged aspect holds some creedence. Personally, i'd have been really tempted just to overlook that; I wanna hear Clarence sing like that again. Rofl.
I'm sure that at least a few of you here can trust in my integrity, and with that in mind, I can say, from both an unofficial and official standpoint, that GF's disqualification was not staged. We mixed the techno track to accentuate the point, but what you heard is exactly what happened.
Again, I'd like to think that at least a few of you would have faith in the pride and honesty I put into my work, and therefore I would not doctor anything up nor lie about the fact if I had.
Official stance: The Goldfingas disqualification was not a staged event. It was a clear and personal disregard for the rules that were explicitly laid down, rules which he deemed unworthy of reading -- as you can find out by reading quicknote history.
Kai
a contest like this is always going to be open to speculation. But I do think, that considering that this is the zone, if the whole event was staged, there would be too much possibility of someone spilling the beans and it all becoming public knowledge. There would be nothing to be gained by staging a disqualification. And I have no personal involvement in icon so have nothing to gain by saying that.
That being said pop idol did pay off one of its contestants to pull out some years back ...
Of corse you could hear Clarence. Between the first and second verses, especially with how the compression had been set on Jamin 85.3.
